STOCKING PROGRAM

Natural Stone & Quartz Stock Program in North Carolina

Why Choose the CCS Stocking Program?

When most homeowners start their countertop or shower buying journey, one of the shocks they can encounter is the reality of paying for material that doesn’t end up in their home.

The reason fabricators follow this practice is because stone is quite expensive, and no two people have the exact same taste or project parameters.

So to cover the expense of sourcing and holding on to stone for an unknown period of time, fabricators typically pass a portion of that cost along to their customers.

At Carolina Custom Surfaces, we felt that there was a better option, so we hand-picked a selection of stone designs that we know our customers are interested in.

We then partnered with the manufacturers and distributors of those stones and negotiated the bulk purchase of these designs to house at our facility.

Why does this matter to you? Well, it’s probably easiest to highlight the key benefits in the list below:

This is also why seeing the actual material matters more than most people realize.

Understanding Dye Lots and the Importance of Seeing Full Slabs

Stone and quartz are produced in batches, often called dye lots. Even materials with the same name can vary in color tone, veining, and overall movement from one batch to another.

Where issues usually arise is during selection. Small samples can’t show the full picture, which is why we encourage viewing full slabs whenever possible.

Here’s what can happen when dye lots are ignored, or slabs aren’t viewed ahead of time:

The installed surface looks different than the color you approved

Large surfaces don’t match across seams or transitions

You realize the issue after fabrication has already started

A sample looks right, but the finished space feels off

Nothing is technically wrong, but the result still isn’t what you wanted

That’s why we invite you to visit our showroom and view full slabs in person. Seeing the actual material before fabrication helps confirm color, movement, and consistency, so the project moves forward with confidence.
